New Teachers Schedule Module

— May 22, 2010

Hello everyone. Today, we’re announcing a new improvement to NiftySchool: the Teachers Schedule module.

What is this all about? Simply put, you can now assign a teacher to each class for each day of the week. This allows you to:

  • make sure each class has a teacher assigned to it.
  • track the number of hours that each teacher is working.

When you click on the new Teachers tab, you’ll be presented with a screen similar to the following:

This screen is both simple and powerful, as you can:

  • assign teachers to your classes in one go.
  • edit week by week, with the previous and next functions.
  • edit only the days in which classes are taught so you make no mistakes (e.g. Class B).
  • assign one teacher per hour if you use the Callan method (e.g. Class C).
  • update the class register accordingly, showing the teacher(s) assigned on given days.

Once teachers have been assigned to classes, click on the show monthly summary link to go to the Monthly Hours Summary.
This helps you to verify how many hours a teacher has taught per month, along with a weekly breakdown.

Both the number of hours per week and total hours per month are shown, to allow you to facilitate reconciliation for those schools in which teachers are paid on a weekly basis.

We hope you find the new features useful. As usual, if you have any comments or questions, feel free to drop us a note.
