How To Add Student Specific Reminders
— Mar 23, 2011
NiftySchool provides an Alerts system that notifies you when something needs your attention.
When something needs taking care of, for example an overdue payment or a student with exceptionally poor attendance, the system will show a warning box in the general dashboard and student’s file page.
There are a number of predefined alerts in the system, but you can also set up your own custom alerts.
From today custom alerts can be optionally linked to students so that a warning message will be displayed in its file page at the right time.
Previously, custom alerts where ‘generic’ and only shown in the general dashboard.
The ability to link a custom alert/reminder to a student is useful when you want for example:
- Remind the student to fill a questionnaire
- Review his progress on a regular basis (you can schedule multiple reminders)
- Call the student on a given day
- ..and so on.
Just go to the Alerts page and click ‘New Alert’:

The form will allow you to specify a description, the date of the reminder and the student it should be associated with (optional):

If associated with a student, the new alert will be displayed in his profile page:

With this update, it will be easier to associate reminders to the right students, and you won’t risk to miss them when you open the student’s profile pages!
