How To Track Late Attendances

— Sep 24, 2011

NiftySchool allows you to track student attendance and precisely compute student attendance rates.

To make these percentages even more accurate, you may want to track when students are late and do not attend the full lesson.

In order to mark a student as late, just go to the class register page, and click on one of the attendance boxes:

Click on the attendance box and the following dialogue box will pop up:

You can change the attendance record to present, late (specifying the amount of minutes) or absent.

Once you click ‘Confirm & Save’ the register will be updated, and the page refreshed:

Every late attendance will be marked in orange in the register.

Lateness will also show up in the student’s attendance calendar, so that you can quickly spot when there’s a recurring problem you need to tackle:

The total amount of lateness will be taken into account in the attendance percentage.

In the screenshot above the student lost 1h 10m: see the difference between attended hours and expected hours at the bottom of the calendar.

This features allows you to precisely track attendance, tardiness and students’ attendance percentages.

If, for example, a student is always five minutes late for his 50 minutes classes, his attendance rate will be 90% instead of 100% even if he never missed a lesson.

We hope you enjoy this feature, and should you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to drop us an email at info@niftyschool.com.

Enjoy!
